About 1746-OB32:

The Allen Bradley 1746-OB32 is a power supply component that comes from the SLC500 controller series. The 1746-OB32 is designed so that it can provide protection from short circuiting and overloads within the modules and carries a 2.5 A rated singular fuse that is non-replaceable for external wiring protection. The module runs on a 24-voltage category within the operating range of 5 to 50 Volt DC sources. There is a thermal cut-out-based protection from the controller. The module, however, does not provide reverse polarity wiring protection for alternate current power sources. The 1746-OB32 system is easy to install and easy to set and belongs to a family of programmable controllers that provide excellent value in addressing a wide range of applications to include material handling. This module features auto-reset under overload conditions that allow the module to resume control of the output channel, to the point where ideal thermal temperatures have been reached again. This 32-point I/O module is keyed and bears a female connector with some crimp type pins, with which to wire I/O devices to the module using a 40-conductor cable or individual wires. When assembled, it is advisable to align the female connector over the modules’ male headers with the aid of the key slots in order to firmly lock it in place. Always take note to assemble connectors and pins together, but only when they are from the same manufacturer, so that even amp pins may not be used with a DDK converter. The installation process becomes that much easier with the connection accessories included within the Allen Bradley range of products; the wiring length then depends on the product of voltage drop by the feet that the user’s system may be able to tolerate.
